I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve strolled up and down the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, eating ice cream and watching the people go by. It’s one of my absolute most favorite places in the world. I grew up spending several weeks each summer here running around with my cousins shopping and laughing and eating beach fries.
There are so many fun things to do on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk for all ages. From my daughter’s first trip at 2 months old, to my sweet Granddad’s visit at 99, there’s something for everyone.
There are plenty of tourist traps I’ll help you avoid, and a few hidden gems you’ll be so glad you found. And honestly, some of the tourist traps are popular for a reason because they are great!
And one final note, I will be including things to do on Rehoboth Avenue, as well. This street runs perpendicular to the boardwalk and is considered part of the boardwalk area. It’s all within a few blocks and a quick walk of each other!

The Best Things to do on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
Grab a Huge Bucket of Thrasher’s French Fries
First and foremost, you must try the best and most famous treat on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, Thrasher’s French Fries!
They have several locations around the boardwalk/Rehoboth Ave Area with one being right on the main strip of Boardwalk between Funland and the Avenue. Stop in here and grab a huge bucket of freshly fried thick french fries. They’re hot and decadent and delicious.
Snack on them as you walk around, or sit on the white benches overlooking the ocean. But whatever you do, be sure to douse them with vinegar before you go, it’s part of what makes them the best!

Ride the Rides at Funland
No matter your age, you must swing by Funland, buy a pack of their iconic green tickets and hop on a few rides! There’s great options for little kids like the boat rides and the swings, and bigger kids (and adults) can go for a swing on the Sea Dragon or defy gravity on the Gravitron!
My daughter Scarlett was not quite big enough last summer, but you better bet I am beyond excited to take her this summer. She’ll be riding the same little boats and firetrucks that I rode almost 30 years ago. It will be so special to me!

Get Ice Cream at The Ice Cream Store
Yep, It’s called “The Ice Cream Store” and they have over 100 flavors of delicious ice cream to choose from! It’s in a super convenient location, on the corner of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and Rehoboth Ave. My personal recommendation will always be a cone of Moose Tracks. It’s the perfect treat on hot summer nights!

Good For: The sweet tooth!
Eat Pizza At Grotto Pizza
If you’re from the Delaware/Maryland area then I know you’ll already be very familiar with Grotto Pizza. However, for people like me who only get to visit Delaware in the summer, then you’ll know that grabbing a hot cheese pizza from Grotto’s is the ultimate treat.
I seriously dream about this pizza all year long, and it’s usually the first meal we have once we get there. It’s just THAT good! The thing that makes this pizza unique is that they put the cheese on the dough first, and then they put the famous spiral of sauce on top.
Something about the way the cheese sticks to the dough just makes it taste ten times better. It’s to die for. So you must try it while you’re here. And to go with it, we love their chopped antipasto salad; yum!!
There’s several locations in the area, but the most convenient is right near the corner of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and Rehoboth Ave.

Good For: Lunch or dinner, sit-down or to-go!
Play Games at Funland
Funland might be full of fun rides, but there’s also tons of games to play there too! It’s one of the fun things to do on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk for any age. Each game is $1-2 dollars per play and you win little stuffed animals. Which of course kids love, but is still fun for adults. Be sure to play the horse race gam;, that’s by far the most popular one!

Good For: Kids and competitive adults
Take Old Time Photos at Yesteryears Photography
Every summer as a kid I would beg and beg my parents to let us get old time photos during our vacation at the Rehoboth beach boardwalk. You get to dress up in all the cutest old time costumes and pose at the different set options in the studio. And they come out so darn cute!!
You better bet baby Scarlett will be getting hers done this summer!

Get a bucket of Caramel Corn from Fisher’s Popcorn
There’s nothing like getting a bucket of caramel corn to take back to the house to share with your family and Fisher’s is located right off the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. They’ve got the original, delicious caramel corn along with kettle corn, butter, cheddar and more! All are delicious and worthy of a bucket-full.
If you save your tub, you can get a dollar off for each refill!
In the past, Dolles was the famous place to get caramel corn too. Sadly, the famous Dolles location has permanently closed.

Go Shopping on Penny Lane
One of the cutest shopping areas near the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk is Penny Lane. Just steps from the boardwalk, this adorable cobblestone alleyway has an art gallery, coffee shop, jewelry store, gift shop, toy store and more.

Play Mini Golf on the Rooftop
Located just steps from Funland is another one of the most fun things to do on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk; mini golf! But this isn’t just any old putt-putt course, Ryan’s Mini Golf is up on the roof! So not only do you get to have a competitive round of mini golf with your date, friends or family, you can also take in beautiful views out over the beach, the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and the bright lights on the rides at Funland!

Buy a Hermit Crab at Ryan’s Gems and Junk
Alright this one might seem a little silly, but when we were kids this was a tradition, and definitely one of our favorite things to do on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. It’s obviously an activity for kids, but they will definitely love going to Gems and Junk to look at the hermit crabs! Many of them have fancy painted shells. So let them pick out a cage and a new little friend to take home!

Enjoy a Sushi Dinner at the Cultured Pearl
Looking to enjoy a fancy dinner on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk? Well, this spot is just a few blocks down Rehoboth Ave, but it’s worth the walk! The Cultured Pearl is one of the best restaurants in Rehoboth. They serve upscale Japanese cuisine with great views! But be sure to get a reservation as they do book up!

Get Henna Tattoos
Yet another fun activity for the kiddos (or just the young at heart!) is getting henna tattoos on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk! There’s several places that do them, so find the closest one, pick out a fun design and you’ll have a tattoo for a week or two!
Good For: Kids
Take Home a Box of Fudge from Candy Kitchen
You cannot leave Rehoboth without a box of fudge, and one of the go-to spots is Candy Kitchen, right on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk! They have many different flavors to choose from, but my personal favorite will always be the chocolate peanut butter. And be sure to grab some saltwater taffy while you’re there!

Good For: Everyone!
Watch a Show at the Bandstand
The bandstand sits right on the intersection of Rehoboth Ave and the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, you literally can’t miss it! Friday through Sunday nights you can sit on the benches and watch a show. The lineup for the summer concert series can be found on the Rehoboth Beach bandstand’s website.

Have Acai Bowls for Breakfast at Playa Bowls
Getting up early during your Rehoboth Beach vacation and looking for a delicious breakfast? Look no further than Playa bowls located on Rehoboth Ave. They serve acai bowls and smoothies that are fresh and so very delicious. We love getting acai bowls in Hawaii where everything is super duper fresh, so we can be a little snobby about them. But this place was fantastic!

Good For: Breakfast
Enjoy your Favorite Beer at Dogfish Head Brewery
If you drink beer then I’m sure you’ve heard of Dogfish Head Brewery. I swear I see their bottles of beer everywhere now, all over the country, but they started right here in Delaware! So head down Rehoboth Avenue to the Brewery and restaurant. Grab a table for dinner or just swing by for something fresh on tap and try their delicious beer!

Good For: Beer Drinkers
Rent Bikes to Explore Rehoboth
Another must-do is to rent bikes and explore the rest of town! Sure there are so many fun things to do on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, but the rest of Rehoboth has a lot to offer as well. On a bike you can explore the town and admire the gorgeous million-dollar homes, ride around Silver Lake, and even head over to The Point Coffeehouse and Bakeshop to grab coffee and their famous sticky buns!

Good For: Families
Have a Bonfire on the Beach
Okay so the truth is that you can’t have a bonfire in Rehoboth. BUT just a few blocks south and you’ll enter Dewey Beach (this is where we always stay and it’s our home away from home). Dewey Beach allows bonfires on the beach any night of the week and it is such a fun thing to do! Just buy some firewood, hot dogs and marshmallows and you are ready to go! But it’s important to note that a permit (and a fee of $50) are required, so head over to the Dewey Beach Town Hall to get that taken care of first.
Location: Google Maps
Website: Town of Dewey Beach
Good For: Big Groups
While these are my top recommendations for things to do on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, there are honestly so many more things to do here, you will never get bored! And always be sure to explore the rest of town and the other beautiful towns nearby like Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach and Lewis!

Vacation Rentals
I highly recommend you get a vacation rental while you are in Rehoboth Beach! You have the most space to spread out and you’ll usually have a full kitchen too! Vacation rentals can typically be cheaper than hotel rooms as well! Here’s a few places that look nice.
Option 1: One Bedroom, one bathroom condo with ocean views and a pool.
Option 2: One bedroom, one bathroom ocean front condo that sleeps 4.
Option 3: Two bedroom, two and a half bathroom townhouse with a shared pool.
Option 4: A gorgeous three bedroom, two bathroom condo right on the corner of Rehoboth Ave and the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. Perfect location!
Option 5: Four bedroom, two and a half bathroom house, less than a block from the beach.
Option 6: Four bedroom, three bathroom house on Silver Lake, and sleeps 9!
